With fluctuating gas prices presenting us too many incentives not to drive anywhere, a large number of drivers are simply feeling boxed in. Going out on a drive simply to sight see was something we did without thinking about how much it would cost. But, today a twenty mile trip can cost as much as ten dollars depending on the gas efficiency of our car. We just can’t take driving anywhere for granted anymore. With our own personal economic crisis making things uncomfortable right now, even a drive across town to see a friend can take a chunk out of our budget.
On the bright side, you could get an electric motor scooter and then you wouldn’t need to buy gas at all!. Electric motor scooters charge in a normal outlet and can go a considerable number of miles on a single charge, many times at more than 60 miles an hour. When you drive to work, or go to see a friend, you’ll have an efficient alternative. An electric motor scooter won’t cost you more than a bit of electricity, which is less expensive than gas nowadays.
A lot of electric motor scooter riders are coming up with some very clever ways to charge their scooters. A few innovative types have put solar panels onto the scooter, itself, so the entire day, while they’re driving or when they’re parked, their scooter is charging. While their parked at work, their scooter will charge the whole time without using any electricity. Another effective plan is to charge your electric motor scooter when you get to a friend’s house. Consequently, you can take short “hops,” charging your scooter’s battery along the way as you visit several friends! It’s a bit like plugging in your cell phone when you visit a friend (provided you’ve remembered your charger).
You might be surprised at how much more gas you burn on short trips around town than you do driving further on the freeway. All the stop and go in town wastes a lot of gas, however on an electric scooter, the power drain only happens when you’re actually driving, not while you’re stopped. Just using your electric motor scooter for getting to work and for short trips will save you a whole lot of money in your gas budget, and then you’ll have more money to buy gas for those road trips once again. You’ll be better off and so will the environment!

Barely 20 years ago the price of gas was under $1.00 a gallon. Today, with prices spiking to almost $4.00 and back again, we breathe a sigh of relief when gas “sinks” to $3.00 a gallon! Most people have been noticing that things are not quite right, and they’re taking action. A considerable number of them have elected to find a better way to to make the rounds, like a cheap scooter or even an electric motor scooter instead.
Although we may have minimal driving habits, the price of gas can take a hunk out of our budget. To have enough gas month we either we have to give up some other expense or give up going out at all. The answer would seem simple: purchase a cheap scooter to ride to work or to use on short trips around town. You would be amazed at how much gas (and money) you can save merely by switching to a scooter to go to and from your job! There are cheap scooters that can go 75 miles per hour, and are legal on the freeway so you don’t have to live necessarily close to work to take a scooter.
Scooters can truly be a very nice way to get to and from work, in addition to saving you money. There is a certain pleasure derived in driving one of these, plus you can drive between cars when traffic is at a stand still, legally heading to the front of the line! Who could ask for more from a a machine used for transportation? You can buy a great scooter for around two thousands dollars, and the money saved on gas will definitely pay that back in no time! Another compelling thing about scooters is you’ll always get the perfect spot in front of stores and restaurants, instead of having to park in a lot somewhere. That way, your cheap scooter will not only save you money, but time as well! There are also a lot of people choosing to go this “route,” so you may meet new people just out and about on your cheap scooter!

Money is something that we are all looking for these days and we are trying to save it any way we can. Realistically, one of the larger costs that we all have each and every week is the cost of filling up our gas tanks. Depending upon what kind of car you have and how far you have to travel, you could be spending as much as $150-$200 a week just on gasoline. You are exactly the person that needs to start looking at 50cc scooters as an alternative to firing up that big engine all the time.
As the cost of gas goes up, filling that monster that you drive around in is costing you a small fortune. Figuring that the average car gets about 20-25 MPG, you could be filling up your tank as many as 3 or 4 times a week. At $50 or more a fill, it gets pretty pricey. Wouldn’t you rather fill up your ride once a week and only spend about $15 to do so? With a 50cc scooter, you are going to get anywhere from 80-100 MPG and that means a lot less money being spent at the pump.
Parking in the city is never an easy chore. It can even be a problem when you are running out to the grocery store. Make a life a little easier on yourself and do these tasks with a 50cc scooter. You can park just about anywhere with them. No more driving around the lot for hours waiting for someone else to pull out. You can be in the front row anytime you like!
Now picture New York City at the height if rush hour and traffic that is bumper to bumper. Wouldn’t it be nice not to have to sit behind a hundred cards just to get around the corner? A 50cc scooter is much more maneuverable than a car and those traffic jams will be a thing of the past.
While these are some of the reasons, there are plenty of other ones as well. Think about the lower insurance rate that you are going to have to pay and how about the time that you will save because of some of the things we mentioned above. Lose your frustrations and save a few bucks in the process by merely traveling around the city on a 50cc scooter.

By following the following maintenance tips, you will have a reliable means of transportation that will last for years!
Perhaps the most important item of maintenance is to regularly check the oil level and change the oil at frequent intervals. Changing the oil at least every 1000 miles is a good idea. The oil capacity is less than 1 liter and so an oil change costs about $3 and takes about 5 minutes. It’s cheap insurance to keep your engine running for as long as possible. It is also recommended to change the transmission oil every 2000 miles or 6 months. See owners Manuel for your motor scooter.
Perhaps the easiest item of scooter maintenance is checking tire pressure regularly. It is very important maintain proper air pressure in the tires since a scooter only has two wheels and tire problems can lead more easily to a loss of control and possible injury.
Check all joints, hinges and quick releases to ensure the scooter is properly assembled. Stop using the product immediately if any joint, hinge, or quick release becomes loose. Correct the looseness prior to resuming the ride. Though a standard maintenance schedule calls for checking bolt tightness every 1000 miles or 6 months, it certainly doesn’t hurt to do it more frequently.
Every 250 miles or Every Month:
* Check engine oil level
* Check tire pressure
* Check lights and horn
* Check battery level
Every 1000 miles or every 6 months
* Change engine oil
* Check tires for wear
* Check valve stems for splits or cracks
* Check brakes and throttle operation. Lubricate cables if required
* Check all screws nuts and bolts and tighten. Especially check muffler and exhaust fasteners and front and rear axles
Every 2000 miles or Every Year
* Change the transmission oil
* Check and adjust valve clearance
* Clean air cleaner
* Check and clean (or replace) spark plug
* Check brake linings.
* Check/clean/lubricate brake and throttle cables.
* Check CVT drive belt for wear and cracks
* Check wheel and steering bearings
You should always consult your owner manual as certain things such as fuel mixture or tire pressure may vary from scooter to scooter. A little Scooter Maintenance will go a long way in avoiding repair expenses and keep you enjoying the ride for many years to come!

A motor scooter is a great alternative mode of transportation to combat the rise in fuel prices. They come in a variety of sizes, 50cc scooters to 800cc scooters. Besides the obvious savings with fuel, there are many benefits to owning a gas scooter.
One benefit is that moped scooters are very easy to use. They tend to be quite similar to motorcycles; however, unlike a motorcycle the engine of the moped scooter is located below the seat and above the rear axle. The scooter is also significantly lighter than a motorcycle and the step through frame creates a feature where riders can rest their feet on a platform or footrest instead of pedals. Unlike the motorcycle, there are no shifting gears, making it easy even for kids to operate.
Another advantages are that they are economical. All over the world, scooters are a popular form of urban transportation due to their low cost. The price depends on many factors including whether you’re buying a high quality name brand versus an inexpensive and low quality model. Most beginning models can start below $1000.
Another way gas scooters are economical is via gas mileage. While most cars average approximately 20 miles to the gallon and hybrid cars can get 30 to 40 miles to gallon, that is quite low compared to o some scooters which can get up to 80 miles to the gallon. This fuel efficiency increases the amount of money you save in gas each time you fill up your tank saving perhaps thousands of dollars annually.
Another benefit is that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) approve motor scooters. With an EPA and DOT approval, vehicles meet their strict standards and can be registered as being street legal vehicle in all 50 states. In other words, they can be driven on the street. However, these vehicles aren’t designed for speed so as a precaution you may want to stay off the highway or interstate.
As you can see, the benefits of owning a motor scooter are great. Not only are they fun to use and easy to operate, but the gas scooters are very economical. Lastly, you will not have a hard time finding a good parking spot, saving you more time.
